Find Out Why The Case Against Men Who Stripped And Robbed A Woman In Kayole May Be Withdrawn From Court

Late last year incidents of stripping ladies thought to be skimpily dressed in the streets of Nairobi and other parts of the country were on the rise and had threatened to plunge the country into conflict.

Demonstrations were held under the umbrella my dress my choice, with perverts who committed the heinous acts ridiculed and cursed in equal measure.

Among the incidents was that in Kayole when perverts descended on Regina Nyambura, stripped her and robbed her of eggs she was selling to earn a living.

A public outcry led to the assailants being nabbed and held for questioning over the ugly incident.

Michael Kamau, Zachary Gitonga, Kelvin Njuguna, David Kinuthia, Lawrence Kuria and Hosea Kassim have been behind bars waiting for the mention of their case but Nyambura has rescinded her decision to have them jailed.

The victim filed an application yesterday where she wants to withdraw the case saying she has forgiven the assailants.

Nyambura wants the six pardoned for the heinous act they committed a few months ago. However, the prosecution rejected the application terming it as a public interest matter.

Makadara principal magistrate Caro Ocharo, however, said she does not see any urgency in the application as stated by Nyambura. She urged Nyambura to consider the charges before she withdraws the case.

The case will be mentioned on March 11, 2015 when the application will be heard.
