Forget Mariah Carey, 2 Chains is the True Definition of a “Diva”. Trust me, His Demands Will Throw You Off The Chair
2Chainz is not big enough to be a diva, there I said it! the promoters really had to put up with his “strange” demands just to make him perform in the country.
There is no doubt 2Chainz’s performance was a killer, but he went way overboard with his demands. The rapper must be really looking down on Kenya or something; his demands could even mesmerize the queen of Sheba herself.
2Chainz’s demands made Kenya look like a desperate lover vehemently trying to please an arrogant girl; first thing first, during his press conference at Sankara, 2Chainz’s bouncers openly smoked “weed” around the compound, they didn’t care to find out whether it was legal or prohibited in Kenya. The promoters must have forgotten to tell them or they just didn’t want to piss them off.
During a press conference with members of the 4th estate, 2chainz annoyingly banged the microphone on the table after he was irritated by journalists for taking his photos. He walked away leaving journalists perplexed and asking themselves more questions than they could get answers. That begs the question what the essence of the press conference was without the members of the press taking photos.
At his concert, there were no curtain raisers; even Khaligraph had to be a mere spectator at an event which many thought he would be sharing the same stage with the American rapper to spit their vibes. This must be really making Octopizzo laugh his lungs out.
One MOST annoying thing that was happening during 2Chainz’s gig was stage mopping; yes, everywhere 2Chainz stepped on the stage was IMMEDIATELY washed. Perhaps he didn’t want to contact some weird sub-Saharan diseases. Poor young Kenyan ladies had to be on standby to wash the stage every time 2Chainz moved from one position to the next. Can’t stop but wonder whether he receives similar treatment in America.
Kenyan photographers were not spared at the concert as well. A single flash would earn them a bumpy ride far away from the stage. The heavy built bouncers had no speck of mercy, they protected the stage from curious photographers who were thirsty to capture 2Chainz performing.
Who does 2Chainz think he is? His demands were a disgusting spit on the faces of Kenyans, no other international artist has ever belittled Kenya this much. The likes of Sean Paul, Shaggy, Akon, Wyclef Jean among others, have all performed in Kenya but NEVER have they behaved so “funny” like 2Chainz did.
It is not as if 2chainz is a big rapper in America to demand so much from Kenya to the extent of making a fool out of us. As a matter of fact, he can’t even fit in the shoes of the likes of Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye west etc. Yet he behaved like a tyrant king reining over his loyal subjects. I don’t think 2Chainz deserved to be accorded such kind of treatment. It just trivialized the country’s status.
