From Flashing Their Penis’ to Removing Their Panties in Parliament, Here Are 7 of the Most Embarrassing Things Kenyan Politicians Have Done

Kenyan politicians are an interesting lot, quite like watching something from a VH1 reality show. Today we gathered some of the most scandalous, embarrassing and downright repulsive things politicians have done that made as go like ‘WTF’?

To start us off is the ‘Bull of Auckland’ .

The ‘Bull of Auckland’ is a nickname that was given to a powerful government official in the KANU regime who flashed his penis at a hotel room attendant in New Zealand in the mid-1990s.

The reason why this incident is practically unheard of is because it was kept under wraps and no Kenyan media dared to report about it and the matter was resolved ki-chini-chini to prevent it from blowing up into a scandalous storm.

Following the incident where the aging official also tried to rape the hotel attendant, the randy politician was sent off quietly from New Zealand.

Years later another politician Mr. John Serut, was also accused of preying on an employee in his offices. Allegations which he claimed were ‘politically fueled’ and that his rivals were trying to taint his good name.

2. Alfred Keter’s Meltdown at the Gilgil Weigh Bridge

The Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter was caught by a well-placed camera cussing out employees at a Gilgil Weighbridge. Flanked by URP nominated MP Sunjeev Kaur Birdi a.k.a Sonia Birdi, Keter fired threats and expletives at the weighbridge officials after Birdi’s truck had been detained as she did not have the required permits.

The video went viral and Keter’s behavior was termed as impunity, Keter defended himself by saying that the weighbridge officials wanted a bribe.

3. Millie Odhiambo Removing Her Panties in Parliament

During a spat in parliament back in 2014, Moses Kuria was accused of stripping and punching fellow MP Millie Odhiambo.

Claims which he heatedly denied and said that she removed her own panties. “She is the one who actually removed her panty and threw it on the floor of the House. She was behaving like a mad woman saying how Luo women are not embarrassed of their nakedness” an aggravated Kuria revealed to Nairobi News.

Millie on her part agreed that she removed her own undies.

“… I am not of the “ayayayaya you slapped me fame!” Moses Kuria amejua why am MP Mbita elected and not appointed. Plus learn, we pride as a people in nakedness Na wamejua. When they tried to undress me I completed the process for them.I am fearfully and wonderfully made and have no embarrassment over my body. I can not and will not be intimidated using my sexuality.” She revealed on a Facebook post.

4. Kidero and Sonko Slapping Shebesh

Let’s just say, 2013 was not a good year for Shebesh .In a period of 2 months Shebesh was smacked across the face by her colleagues Kidero and Sonko. Kidero smacked Shebesh after a scuffle in City hall after which Shebesh cried out “Ayayayayaya! Kidero, you have slapped me? You have slapped me Kidero? You have slapped me?” before she was jostled out of City Hall.

Kidero then feigned ignorance about the whole episode and claimed that he did not remember slapping anybody.

5. Sonko Punching A Wall, Jumping On A Moving Car And Asking Caroline Mutoko “Who F**ks You?”

The Nairobi Senator may have not heard the phrase’ Mchapa ngtumi ukuta huumiza mkono wake’ as he gave a certain wall a punch of the century when he led the youth in protesting the grabbing of land in South C.

But that is not all; Sonko has been known to throw himself frantically on moving vehicles and for climbing over gates at the Ministry of Local Government offices at Jogoo House.

He also once lay prostate on a busy road and tried to throw himself theatrically in to a fire before he was restrained. Thankfully, after he became Nairobi Senator he has kept his dramatics to a minimum, but that did not stop him from having an outburst during a live radio interview with Caroline Mutoko. The Senator asked Caroline who f**cks her before telling her that she smokes cigarettes at Carnivore .

6. Lucy Kibaki Smacks an MC

The late first lady was known for a hot temper and a swift hand. During Kibaki’s regime, Lucy smacked an MC during Jamhuri Celebrations for calling her ‘Lucy Wambui’; she also slapped camera man Clifford Derrick for taping her during her Nation storm-in.

Clifford later went into exile (South Africa) claiming that his life was in danger following his decision to pursue legal action against her after the slap that catapulted him into fame. Another famous slapping incident was when she slapped Gitobu Imanyara and ordered him to leave statehouse.

7. Sonko And Shebesh’s Private Photos Surface on the Internet

Deceased blogger Roy Ogolla deliberately leaked these photos before his untimely death .Photos that showed the respected leaders in unflattering positions considering that they were both married.

Following Roy’s Death which they say was a road accident; Sonko was accused of finishing him off. Accusations which he denied in a reply to one of his followers.
