Hollywood celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron have confessed that most of the producers they worked with before they made it to the big league offered a role in exchange for a quickie.

You would be called to audition for a role only to find your future employer parading around in a robe like Hugh Hefner, you would be forgiven you were casting for a slot in the Playboy Mansion.

But the Casting Couch phenomenon is not unique to Hollywood; it is alive and thriving in Kenya especially in the music industry.

Upcoming musicians and actresses are slowly coming forward with foul casting couch tales, saying that they have been asked for sexual favors in order to get a coveted career in music or acting. There is even a gospel musician who was passed around like a piece of meat in the gospel industry in order to get to the top. But its not only women who are being plied on, men are not safe! We also hear sordid tales of a cabal of predators who hound young good looking men, seducing them with money before devouring them then offering them a fancy job.

A few years back singer Blaqy said that most radio presenters will only give you airplay if you return the favor sexually or financially. A phenomenon a lot of them denied but as per my knowledge, it is still going strong, explaining the number of mediocre songs blasting on our radios.

And this year an upcoming singer has confessed that Provoke is back to his old ways, of allegedly prying on the young girls.

We called Provoke to get his side of the story and despite getting all dramatic on us, he was quick to deny the allegations claiming that since Coke Studio last year, he hasn’t hit the studio. He actually alleged that most of these women were sent by his enemies to come and destroy him.

Another one who was implicated in the scandal is Big Soul, known for producing for Wakimbizi. And Big Soul also denied this story saying that the girl is out to get fame, he has worked with plenty of female artistes and none of them has ever complained about any sexual harassment.

Which begs the question, who is telling the truth?
