Ghafla Exclusive: ‘Willy Paul Stole Tam Tam’ Fellow Gospel Artiste Claims!
Size 8 and Willy Paul are newbies in the gospel industry but within the short time they have been active, they have become insanely successful .
The two recently came together to collaborate on what could be the biggest gospel hit yet, The Tam Tam Remix. The song is barely a month old and it is already rocked with controversy.
It is said that Willy Paul ripped off the song from an upcoming artiste called Elijah Prince.
This assertion is of course nothing to take lightly and so we put on our detective hats to dig deep into this matter.
After digging, I came across the master copy of ‘Tam Tam’ which was created on October 15th last year .Tam tam was originally called ‘Mwanamke’ before changing to ‘Kitamtam’ and was performed by Willy Paul and Elijah Prince featuring DK Kwenyte Beat.

In order to get the full story and all sides of the story we had to call up the people involved. So we dialled up Size 8 who seemed shocked to hear that piece of information. She distanced herself from the scandal saying that she was called to do the remix by Willy Paul after he found her recording her latest track that is due for release.
Willy Paul had already written the whole song including the chorus which is the bone of contention in this saga. All she did was lend her voice.

She informed me that after Tam Tam was released,Elijah approached her and informed her that the song which has become a household name was ripped off him. That is when she decided to investigate the story only to find out that the chorus was written by Willy Paul
A sentiment echoed by Dk Kwenye Beat who confirmed that the chorus was written by Willy Paul . This was after Elijah invited him (DK) to do a love song and he asked Willy Paul to tag along.
He goes on to add that on the day they were to record the song, he and Willy Paul recorded their part of the song but Elijah did not have his part ready and he had to be left in the studio to record the song overnight.
On the song, DK reckons that maybe Willy Paul and Elijah had a tiff and that is why Willy Paul took his part of the song, that is the chorus and decided to do a song on his own before teaming up with Size 8.That said, since Willy Paul wrote the chorus which was used in the Remix, he is allowed to use it elsewhere.
The third person to call up was the accused Willy Paul who laughed off this accusation before adding that “I really worked hard to get where I am today. If he wants to get noticed, he should not drag my name through the mud, but he should start working hard .I think he is desperate for fame”
“There are a lot of obstacles in life; I believe he is just an obstacle in my life. In fact I believe one should pray for such [people because the devil has clearly entered their body and is trying to control them” he concludes.
