Here is a list of journalists that KTN has poached from other stations so far (media genocide)
In a bid to restore its lost glory, KTN has lately been going hard on getting back their long lost journalists and even buying some new ones, from the now thriving TV stations like NTV and Citizen TV.
It has now become survival of the fittest in the media as they strongly eliminate competition by taking the best of the best from each other in magnitude. This is now being referred to as ‘media genocide.’
Lately, KTN has been on a roll, buying some of those ‘best’ journalists. Come to think of it, the greatest of journalist were all bred in KTN from way back.
The Standard Group Managing Director, Sham Shollei is now returning the favour to other stations by poaching back journalist. Some of them are: Muhammed Ali (from NTV), Emmanuel Taalam (CCTV), Njoroge Mwaura (remember him), Cynthia Makuyu, Erick Njoka (CCTV), Hussein Muhammed (Citizen TV).
There are a whole lot more journalists preparing to join KTN though it has not yet been made official. Funny thing about this is that they are all from NTV: Irene Kimani, Pauline Kareithi, Linda Ogutu, Joe Ageyo, Rita Kinina, Smirti Vidyarthi, James Smart and Ferdinand Omondi.
What buffles me, is the fact that Ann Kiguta has just resigned from KTN and is headed to NTV, while everyone else is facing the opposite direction. I’m begining to think that this is not only a matter of who is paying better, but mostly based on company politics.
What do you think?
