How ‘Makmende’ turned Genge
Have you heard the remix on the ‘ha-he’ track? They just could’t resisit the genge flavour. Mgenge true,
The Godfather Nonini decided to jump on the track done by one of the best and most original band in Kenya.
The founder of the genge genre of music comes through with a rather fast-paces rap, fusing just right with the techno-like tempo beats. He later concludes with a marvelous last verse, kind of something like “hatukua na mlango ya kubisha on opportunity! Tukatengeza opportunity in our own community…”. This represents the struggle Nonini went through when starting his music with Clemo and Jua cali, with a studio in the house.
The video will be coming out soon, and I can’t wait to see it. I wonder if Makmende will be on his violent mood this time.
