The actress took home the award for outstanding supporting actress in a motion picture for her role in 12 years a slave.this was at the 45th Annual National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People (NAACP) image awards .She beat the likes of Alfre Woodard Octavia Spencer and Oprah and she did it in style.
