“Jeff Koinange Is Difficult”Judge Says About Jeff Koinange Before Issuing An Arrest Warrant

As you are all aware, seasoned journalist Jeff Koinange was recently slapped with another arrest warrant. This was after he got arrested and released on a cash bail of 100,000 last week.

Before issuing another arrest warrant the judge Senior Resident Magistrate, Maisy Chesang had some unflattering things to say about Koinange who failed to turn up in court but opted for a conference at the Ivory Coast. “I acknowledge submissions that Mr. Koinange is a difficult person to deal with and the explanations given for his failure to be in court are insufficient. In the circumstances, a fresh warrant of arrest is issued against him and his cash bail forfeited to the state. ”said M Chesang.

His lawyer’s explanation that Mr. Koinange travelled to the Ivory Coast to attend a conference but the judge was hearing none of it “What was more important, cancelling the trip or attending court? The judicial process is more important than any other engagement and as a public figure, he should know that it is good order to follow court orders” she said.
