Just-A-Band Covers Tahamaki’s Theme Song, Dunia Ina Mambo
Fans gathered at the Goethe Institut for the Just-A-Band’s listening party to sample music off their new album, Sorry For The Delay.
The band’s last album was evoked nostalgia in the form of a video for one of the album’s release, Ha-He. It was the reimagination of a previously faceless childhood hero, Makmende. In their first album, Scratch To Reveal, they covered Oh Ndio!, a classic from ’90s boy band, 5 Alive.
Looks like the band is not done with the nostalgia business. In Sorry For The Delay, they cover The Cavaliers Band’s Dunia Ina Mambo. For most, that might not ring any bells. It is also the track which was used as the theme song for the legendary ’90s TV show, Tahamaki.
Just-A-Band will perform the cover at their upcoming launch on the 27th of October at the KICC. Events starts at 6:00 p.m. Entry is Kshs. 500. Read about the other songs they played at the listening party here. As you wait for that cover at the concert or after you purchase the album, you can listen to The Cavaliers Band’s original Dunia Ina Mambo as it played on Tahamaki below.
