Kenya Meets Nigeria: Blackman Joins Forces With Kedike Producer

One of Kenya’s top music producers, Blackman, has merged his production company, Blackman Entertainment, with a top Nigerian production house, CAMP (Cobhams Asuquo Music Production).

Blackman is responsible for producing such tracks as Juliani’s Mtaa Mentality and Sara Mitaru’s epic track, Make Way among others. Blackman just came back from the U.S. where he was in business talks with Warryn Campbell, renown songwriter and producer who has worked with Kanye West, Xzibit, Dru Hill and Musiq Soulchild among others.

Cobhams Asuquo is the producer and co-writer behind the internationally acclaimed afro-soul album, ASA (by Asa). Those into more mainstream or club music have probably heard his work as producer for MTN Project Fame winner, Chidinma’s Kedike.

What this deal means is that all the artistes in Blackman’s label have access to the Nigerian market through Cobham’s label, which they can use to market their music. Cobhams’ latest track includes a collaboration between Stan Iyke and Tiwa Savage. You can check it out below.
