Kenya Tries to Woo Tourists with Music
The Kenyan government’s next weapon in promoting tourism: music. The Kenya Tourism Board has facilitated a musical that will be staged abroad in the hopes that it will spur the audiences to flock the country to experience local culture.
Out of Africa: The Magic of Kenya will hold its premiere at the Stadstheater Zoetermeer in Netherlands on the 28th of September. The play features a full Kenyan cast who are charged with marketing the country’s cultural heritage through music and dance.
Out of Africa is produced by Peter Ultee Productions which began preparations earlier this year for the show that will play 70 times across Europe. After Netherlands, the play will then travel to Belgium, Denmark and Luxemburg over a three-month period.
