Following the recently concluded 48 Hour Film Project’s international festival ‘Filmapalooza’,  the top 15 films that will be featured at this year’s Cannes Film Festival were revealed.
And the film ‘Bait’ by 2015 winner Kibanda Pictures will be the first 48HFP Nairobi film to be featured at the festival.

Filmapalooza 2016 brought together 48 hour filmmakers from around the world for a crazy exciting week of screenings, parties, networking and fun in Atlanta, USA. The screenings featured all ‘Best Film’ city winners from the 2015 competition, with over 130 films screened.

This event concluded with the announcement of ‘Best Film’ 2016. In addition the selection of films that will represent the 48HFP in this year’s Cannes Film Festival were also announced. Among them Nairobi’s 2015 winner ‘BAIT’. Nairobi is also the only African city on the list.

The 48HFP has partnered with Cannes for the last few years, featuring some of the top 48HFP films from around the world as a part of the Short Film Corner.

If you missed out on our screenings last year, you can watch ‘BAIT’ here:
