Open Mic Night will be going down at the sophisticated club Nairobi has to offer, on the decks will be the talented Yahu , special guest stars will be none other than the Military Swagg Team.
Military Swagg Team’s music doesn’t fit under one genre as they have proven to be quite versatile although their passion definitely points to a deep love for Hip hop. They describe their music as ‘Urban Hip Hop’. As for whom they look up to in the industry, one name stands above the rest and this is local artist Kantai. This is because, for them, he burst on the scene and paved the way for Kenyan Hip Hop in.
In 2010, Military Swagg Team was created by four Kenyan youth who decided to come together and combine their creative juices resulting in musical euphoria.
The four were-:
- Daniel Wale whose stage name is ‘Deebouwy’ is the founder who started off as a DJ
- Hamisi Omar aka H-payne wears three different hats i.e. that of producer, rapper and singer.
- Stanley Mzae also known as‘Stunna Stan’ is their resident rapper whose unique flow never fails to impress. His ability to effortlessly turn his thoughts into lyrical tongue twisters definitely keeps his fans yearning for more
- Tracey Ndoti who is popularly known as ‘Kush’ fills this position effortlessly delivering rhyme after rhyme as their talented female MC.
