Kenyans Rally Behind Violet, A Kenyan Rape Victim Facing Execution In Saudi Arabia #savevioletfromdeath
Saudi Arabia has gained the unsavory reputation of treating women like second class citizens where they require consent from a male guardian to work and drive.
Women are also not allowed to wander outside without being accompanied by a male companion commonly known as a ‘mahram’, drive or even read uncensored magazines.
But perhaps the worst crime of all has got to be the punishment levied against female rape victims.
A while back , a 19-year-old woman who was a victim of violent gang rape in Saudi Arabia was sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in jail.
This was after she was found guilty of being “indecent” at the time of the assault, simply because she was not accompanied by a male chaperon. The rapists who should have gotten the worst punishment possible were given simple sentences. This goes to show the little disregard they have for their women.
Now a Kenyan woman identified simply as Violet is set to be executed next week after apparently seducing her employer. The girl was in fact raped by her employer but the Saudi court will hear none of it.
To help save this girl from the clutches of death, Kenyans led by rapper turned human rights activist K-Nel are now joining hands to save this lass. He gave us an update on the Kenyan girl sentenced to death by hanging in Saudi Arabia
I just got off the phone with Mombasa Nominated Senator Hon. Emma Mbura. Without wasting a single second, here are the NEWS:
1: Hon. Emma Mbura Confronted President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta with the Issue of Viola yesterday during Senator Sonko’s father burial.
2: Senator Emma Mbura made it very clear to President Uhuru Kenyatta that if the Saudi Arabian Government will kill our Kenyan Girl, we will SHUT DOWN THE SAUDI EMBASSY IN NAIROBI and FINISH ANY FORM OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONSHIP WITH SAUDI ARABIA!!!!
What’s next: After brainstorming with Hon. Mbura, we decided we will mobilize our Kenyan citizens to demonstrate at the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Nairobi!! I fully support this call. If 1 Oppressed KENYAN Soul in the Gulf is killed, THE WHOLE ENTIRE NATION OF KENYA DIES! This is going to be our SLOGAN. Please my dear Kenyan Brothers and Sisters, hear me now and hear me loud; WE MUST DO ALL IT TAKES IN OUR MIGHTY POWERS TO RESCUE THE LIFE OF THIS LADY!!! Share this Post as much as you can. My target is not to only mobilize 42 million Kenyans, I want the whole entire WORLD TO STAND UP AND FIGHT AGAINST INJUSTICE AND OPPRESSION. Time is running and time is running fast! Hon. Emma Mbura, I salute you for your bravery and spirit. I will update you soon with a strategy. I also Challenge all Kenyan Human Rights Groups/Women Groups both in Kenya and here in the Diaspora to be ready! This is the toughest challenge we have faced and we will not bow down!!!!! We are FEARLESS, WE ARE THE VOICES OF THE OPPRESSED!! #VOO our hash tag is #savevioletfromdeath
