Kenya’s Top 5 High Flying Artists
I have heard some people comment about how Kenyan artists are paupers but i have always begged to differ. While alot of Kenyan artists are not receiving monetary compensation commensurate with the efforts they pump into blessing us with their music, some are living it large.
And if you want proof, why not look at their lifestyles. Some artists have jet-setting lifestyles and i mean literally. These are the lads and lasses who can jump into a plane just because they missed mummy’s ugali.

#5. Bamboo
Bamboo has been flying in and out of the country for the last couple of years. He recently jetted in and declared that he’ll be permanently based in Kenya… Just wondering if he’s a member of the “Mile High Club”…

#4. K’Cous
K’Cous studies in the UK but is always around for Camp Mulla concerts. Wonder how he does it all; the juggling that is given that he has to juggle his studies, his fast paced lifestyle and all. I’m sure if he keeps his jet-setting lifestyle up he’ll discover new forms of jetlag…
Wonder whether this fact inspired Camp Mulla’s Taio Tripper when he rapped: “Shame on the pain that I feel is in your name/ yet again I’ll be floating like a KLM plane” on the track “Addicted”?

#3. Sauti Sol
These guys have been all around the globe representing Kenya at different concerts. They have been invited to alot of concerts and towns on account of how good the are at what they do. From Amsterdam, Texas, South Africa (to record with Spoek Mathambo). These guys aren’t particularly shy of leaving a carbon footprint.

#2. J.A.B
When it comes to flying around, these lads have only been bested by one other artist. This has been their year in terms of concerts in various exotic places. You name it and i dare say they’ve performed there. South Africa, New York (for the SummerStage Festival)

#1. STL
This lass by far has moved from just ruling the airwaves to ruling the airways. She’s been flying between NYC, Amsterdam and Kenya. I wonder whether she harboured any childhood dreams of being an air hostess… or is the money she’s making burning a hole in her pocket? Who knows. All i know is that she’s successfully and her jet-setting lifestyle is proof enough of the fact.
