Kenya’s Version Of Bendover? Madtraxx Explains His New Track

Madtraxx was on Homegrown with Mwalimu Sonnie this Sunday and they were discussing his new club banger “Kumerera” and he opened up about the name of the track and the influence behind the song.

The song was inspired by a need to be different. A need to experiment with different genres of music. And boy did he ever! Madtraxx called upon his alter ego to do the track and deliver he did. There were no inhibitions. Then he was asked about the name. Well, according to Maddy, the track is Kenya’s version of “Bend Over”.

That got me thinking…Hmmm.. I said to meself, what does the title mean. And so i called upon the expertise of Cinju our resident Kikuyu expert and asked her. Apparently, Kumerera means creeping aorund. Not the TLC creeping though. Then she clarified further that given what Maddy said about the track, the title could be a play on a rather similar sounding Kikuyu word: “Komerera”.

Komerera would mean uhm… literally “lie on me”. I instantly fell in-love with the track. And listening to the lyrics, one is hard pressed not to see and acknowledge the explanation offered. With that, “Komerera” seems legit. Adam Wagwau seems to like the psychedelic video… I just like the movement of the girls. Shallow? Maybe. But care i do not. Watch the video below and let us know what you think about it in the comment section. Personally, i have it on repeat.
