Well a 16 year old girl in Busia was gang raped and beaten by people she knew as she was leaving her grandfather’s funeral.The scoundrels then DUMPED her in a PIT LATRINE leaving her for death.The youngster named Liz was lucky to have survived but suffered a broken spine and has the worst case of fistula.So what penalty were these vile offenders given?Life in prison?Stoning?Castration perhaps?No,the rapists were ordered to SLASH grass!The justice system has really gone to the dogs!
On hearing this story,a lot of people were outraged and there is an online campaign that aims at stopping rape and getting justice for the lass.Poet and rape survivor Sitawa Wafula is among the celebrities that have joined Kenyans in this campaign.
