Kris Eeh Baba Reveals How He Used Just KSh200 For His First Song
The other day, the “Katikia Yesu” singer was kind enough to let us in on three things we never knew about him and what astounded me most was that he just spent KSh200 for a song!. It may not sound real considering how much upcoming artistes are asked to fork out by producers to record their first tracks but yes, it is true Kris spent just 200 bob for his first song.
Here are the three;
1) I used to call myself “Naughty Naughty” “Slimmer” “Termite” among other crazy names while coming up as an artist.
2) I paid Ksh200 for my first song, I had saved the 200/= from my break money for two months, heheheee. Ask Majic Mike, he will confirm this 🙂 the second song at least nilimpea 1k.
It happened that on this material day producer Majic Mike was at an event which Kris was performing at and seeing the great potential in him, he set up an appointment with Kris to do sound for him. Kris was so excited and he took to the studio on a later date to be done a sound recording my Majic Mike. So the funny part of the story is that when Kris was supposed to submit his payment for the recording, he forked out a 200/- shilling note from his pocket. Sounds like a joke, yeah? However, Majic Mike understood him and instead of taking the money, he sent Kris to get him a plate of fries and sausage!
3) I was carried out of stage during my performance while coming up because of using a secular instrumental. (I couldn’t afford recording a song so nilinunua instrumentals from a makanga wa mtaani and wrote my song 🙂 ) The people that carried me off stage are currently my best brothers and have supported me in more ways than you can imagine 🙂 Big up to Clement Miano,Johny and Lesly.
