KTN’s Nancy Kacungira Gets A Pat On Back From Fellow Ugandan Anchor Following Her GREAT Success

KTN must be celebrating following the success of one of their own! Nancy Kacungira is currently the most talked-about African anchor in the world.

Good news! Nancy Kacungira has won BBC World News Komla Dumor Award. The Ugandan national rubbed off competition from nearly 200 applicants to emerge victorious.

The award was established to honour Komla Dumor, a highly acclaimed journalist who presented Focus on Africa on BBC World News.

Komla, a Ghanaian born national died in January last year in his London home after suffering a cardiac arrest, he was only 41 at the time of his death.

The fallen Ghanaian journalist became the first host of the African business news programme on BBC World News, Africa Business Report in 2009.

He travelled across Africa, meeting Africa’s top entrepreneurs and reporting on the latest business trends around the continent.

It’s because of his great work at BBC that the UK broadcaster decided to honor him by starting an award after him.

Ugandan journalist and Kacungira’s colleague at KTN, Joy Doreen Biira, was quick to congratulate her for the great success.

“Congratulations to Nancy Kacungira for winning the first BBC Komla Dumor award.” Doreen made her voice heard.
