Larry Madowo’s Personal Attack On Alfred Keter And Sonia Birdi Was Totally Uncalled For. This is Why

NTV’s Larry Madowo last night hosted the two “dishonorable” legislators, Alfred Keter and Sonia Birdi to shade light on the Gilgil saga but what was supposed to be a simple clearing of the air ended up being Larry’s playground where he had a go at the two legislators bearing his disgust and dissatisfaction for all to see. But was this really justified, I think not and this is why;

First thing first, Alfred Keter’s actions of trying to bull his way at Gilgil Weigh Bridge needs to be condemned by unison voice. Even so, the “guilty” too have the right to be heard.

Last night when Larry Madowo hosted Alfred Keter and Sonia Birdi to seek their explanation regarding the blatant display of impunity, one thing came out clearly: the two were not given ample time to explain themselves.

Larry literally hijacked the interview constantly interrupting the two while they were speaking. Instead of tackling the interview from a neutral point, Larry was clearly overwhelmed by emotions and was quick to condemn the two instead of giving them the chance to explain their despicable actions.

At one point, Sonia was so pissed off with Larry that she shouted at him saying he should never call her an honorable member.

“Don’t call me honorable. From today don’t call me honorable, you know why? I am standing for the rights of all those that are out there. And if being honorable means not standing for all those people, DO NOT CALL ME HONORABLE!!” Sonia shouted while pointing her finger at Larry.

Larry was openly forcing the two to apologize for their actions. Instead of just asking whether the two they were regretting what they did and stop there, Larry pushed them further and further until Sonia shouted at him.

“Excuse me…Allow us… Give us some hearing first. Just give us some hearing. You have been covering this story for a whole day. Can you get our story? This is the time to get the story”, Keter mercilessly pleaded with Larry.

So why was Larry so quick to judge the two? He called them there to hear their side of the story, why then repeatedly disrupt them while they were explaining themselves? He could easily throw his jabs at them without their presence on TV.

“You know the problem with the media? You go for the side shows. Can you go for the real issue!” Keter uttered.

All in all, Keter and Sonia’s actions were unjustified and they should face the law for it But Larry Madowo too should be very impartial with his interviews. He is not the judge. One is innocent until proven otherwise by the court of law.
