Larry Madowo’s Ridicule Could Land Him in Jail Just Like Robert Alai. See What He Did

With the government cracking its whip on anyone who dares make fun of it, Larry Madowo is treading in dangerous waters with his sarcasm.

Robert Alai rubbed the government the wrong way with his “kalongolongo” sentiment and learnt his lesson the hard way; he spent a night in jail and paid a hefty price to be bailed out. His ordeal is enough to scare anyone who thought of stepping on the government’s foot.

But not Larry Madowo, he is bold enough to mock the government. The proposed Security Law Amendment Bill 2014 seeks to bar journalists from publishing images of dead people on their publications. The proponents of this Bill argued Western media (which have always been used as reference) don’t publish photos of dead people.

To prove the proponents of the Bill wrong, Larry Madowo took a screenshot of leading Western newspapers; International New York Times and The Times newspapers which published photos of dead victims of Peshawar school massacre in Pakistan on their front pages.( They were killed by the dreaded terrorist group; Taliban)

Will this land Larry in hot water? Guess only time will tell.
