Lupita did not come back to the country for a long time after her Oscar win and when she did so, she jetted in clandestinely and it looked like she had snubbed Kenyans.

After all, she had come to the continent thrice visiting Morocco, Uganda and South Africa and did not jet into the county until her sister’s wedding. But as Anita Nderu pointed out, maybe Lupita did not want her presence to overshadow her sister’s big day.

Still, this answer did not gratify Kenyans who insist that she has to come back and be celebrated in public…mursik and all.
But despite all the noise surrounding her alleged snobbery and people assuming that she had forgotten her roots when she hit it big, Lupita has not forgotten where she came from.
She even took us a walk down memory lane, back when fringes and thick eyebrows were cool (okay they are still cool)
