Lupita Nyong’o Once Again The Talk Of The World After She Hit 2015 Oscars Red Carpet In 6000 Pearl-Embellished Custom-Made Dress (Photos)
All eyes at the 2015 Oscars turned to the talented Kenyan actress, Lupita Nyong’o, who stole the glamour with her elegant dress.
She sure knows how to make headlines on global media. Her name could be conspicuously missing among those ones that bagged an Oscar award this year but surely, Lupita Nyong’o’s name was mentioned more times on the media than any of 2015 Oscar winners.
She was called the ‘Mother of Pears’ by the media after she turned up for the red carpet event dressed in a customized Calvin Klein creation; a 6000 pearl-embellished dress that took hundreds of thousands hours to make.
Just to make sure we are on the same page, pears are highly priced gem with a hard, lustrous spherical mass, typically white or bluish-grey, formed within the shell of a pearl oyster.
Lupita’s floor-length white gown was coated with over 6,000 pearls. In laymen terms, Lupita simply wore a cloth that was made almost entirely of jewellery, top to bottom. Hebu sema Ujaluo nayo!
