Matiangi Bans Prayer Days In Schools To Curb Exam Cheating In Shocking Rules That Have Shocked The Nation

The Cabinet Secretary for education Fred Mataing’I has deservedly earned his reputation as one of the hardest working members of the Jubilee cabinet.

However, his latest move, radical as many of his moves has just redefined the craziness that most of the time guides government policy formulation. In a bid to curb examination cheating in the final year exams at the Primary and Secondary School the CS announced a raft of changes that are hilarious at best and likely to be ineffective at worst.

Among them is the banning of visiting days, Candidates prayer sessions popularly known as Prayer Days along with any other third term social activities. Visiting days and Mid-Terms have also been banned, while term two has been extended to 17 weeks instead of the usual 14 weeks with the schools closing on 29th August and not the earlier set date of 5th August.

The KCSE’s will be done in September while KCPE in October. The exams will be supervised by the Heads of Institutions, KNEC officials and contacted invigilators. These changes will affect all public schools.
