Mbusii Tells All Part 2: My Father Was A Mortuary Attendant!
“I am the captain of my ship, the master of my soul!” taken from “Invictus” a poem by William Ernest Henley. Nothing can hold you back if you believe in achieving something. Mbusii is proof of that. Mbusii was born upcountry shortly before his mother moved to Korogocho slums to live with his father.
His father was a man of many cloaks. One was that of a city council mortuary attendant. His father was charged with cleaning dead corpses! My word! Yeah, Mbusii is the scion of a mortuary attendant so don’t ever give me the excuse about being from a disadvantaged background!
This man is living testament to Rudyard Kipling’s poem titled “If!”

“If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:”
The thing is, i have immense new found respect for Mbusii! Truly there is more than meets the eyes and the most wise are only so because of the trial and tribulations they have endured and ultimately conquered!
