Media Personalities Who Successfully Joined The Political Bandwagon.
I was scheming through the ‘web’ and a post by Career Point caught my eye. I felt it was imperative that I share it with you!

I just posted about a former journalist who left the news room and began her own public relations firm. Her PR firm was among two others tasked with ensuring that President Uhuru Kenyatta made a lasting impression on Kenyans. Read about her here.

Well she’s not the only one! A while back I shared with you the story of Sabina Wanjiru popularly known as Wanjiru Wa Chege. She was until her recent political leap, a presenter at Coro fm, and Programmes controller at KBC Radio. She is currently the women’s representative for Murang’a county. Joining her was Millicent Mugadi, she represented us in Big Brother. Read about her here as well.

Well these two ladies are not the only ones! There’s couple of surprise names this article reveals that also ‘jumped ship’ so to speak. Wow, what a huge leap this is. Below are the names that the article gives.

-
- Former Standard Group reporter Ayub Savula was elected Lugari MP
- Former Standard Group editor Dennitah Ghati was elected Migori County Women Representative.
- Beauttah Omanga of Standard Group was elected Bogichora Ward representative in Nyamira County.
- Former NTV sports journalist Mustafa Iddi Salim was elected Kilifi South MP
- Former radio presenter Sabina Wanjiru Chege was elected Murang’a County Women Representatives
- Veteran radio journalist Alice Chae was elected Nyamira county Women Representatives
- 27-year-old former KBC journalist Naisula Lesuuda was nominated to the Senate.
- Former government spokesman Dr Alfred Mutua, also a journalist, was elected Machakos County governor
While the media has lost out, I believe that Kenyans are now getting served by people well versed on the issues that have a bearing on their lives.
