My first encounter with nuns was back in high school and thankfully the nuns I came across did not fit into the stereotype.

I came across the best kind of nuns, the Loreto Convent sisters who were a bit different from the usual nuns as they were a bit liberal in their ways and did not wear any veils.

When I left high school I thought I had seen the last cool nuns, but as it turns out I haven’t. There is a nun who has become very popular on social media as she is considered pretty cool.

Her name sister Mary Bakhita who is Kenyan but is based in Rome Italy .Sister Mary is a selfie-loving nun with quite a following on Instagram. She lets her followers have a peek at the day to day lives of religious sisters.

From meeting new friends, to having a little fun with the other nuns, to inspiring her followers with religious quotes sister Bakhita has become one to follow.
