‘Miracle Babies’ Televangelist Now Accused Of Rape
You know him as the televangelist who falsely claimed that he helped barren women give birth through “the power of prayer and the Lord Jesus”. Gilbert Deya, who has a cult-like following was accused of stealing the so called “miracle babies” and was charged with child trafficking but his wife Eddah (also known as Mary Deya) took the fall.
She was jailed together with Rose Atieno Kiserem a former pastor at Deya Ministries who upon her release revealed that the ‘miracle babies’ were “a hoax created by the Deyas and their accomplices to deceive me and other God-fearing people”
Deya who lost a battle against extradition to Kenya to face kidnapping charges is still in Britain and is now accused of rape.
According to International Business Times UK, He is accused of three counts of rape and one count of attempted rape on an adult woman. He is also charged with one count of sexual assault-by-touching in relation to a 14-year-old girl.
He is currently in custody and is due to revisit the court on the 8th of next month for a preliminary hearing after appearing before Camberwell magistrates court to face the charges.
