Moi University Third Year Student Raped, Strangled, Body Left In a Ditch.

There has been complains over the past stretch of years on the issue of security at the institution, yesterday as news of  the gory murder rent the air,a blog by Robert Alai dug into  history and  the shocking story, the disturbing details of a hooded killer used to  prey on innocent campus girls, they had even nicknamed him mashoka, loosely translated as “Axe-man” -He was known as the hooded figure that hacked his victims to death after molesting them. 

Years after the details that befit a horror movie rocked the airwaves, the shadowy figure seems to have crept back into the institution, yesterday a third year school of arts student was found dead at the institution hostel’s area, her mangled body bore the details of rape and strangulation. Angry students rioted shortly after the discovery, it took the authorities to bring calm to the institution. 

The police are yet nail the culprit at a time when students  may be losing confidence in the security at the institution. It is very sad when a student dies before they even have a chance at capitalizing from what they studied for, it is even more painful for the parents who have to contend with the loss of a child, a child that they had dreams of. It is downright unfortunate when the institution is aware of the lackluster security situation at the institution but still does nothing about it.
