Murder In The Club :CID Reports That Former MP’s Beer Was Poisoned
The late George Thuo could have been poisoned at popular Thika night club, Porkies.
This is according to a police report that says that the late MP was allegedly poisoned thanks to a glass laced with a pesticide known as karate. The investigators concluded that the poison was put in an empty glass which the former MP later used and this is what led to his demise. According to the report if you ingest the said pesticide it will take 10-15 minutes to feel the effect of karate adding that the former Juja Mp complained of extreme heat a few minutes after taking the beer. He then collapsed and was rushed to a nearby hospital then later to Agha Khan where he was pronounced dead. A can of pesticide was also recovered from the scene.
Six people have been accused of murdering the MP. The accused include Paul Wainaina, (club owner) Christopher Lumbasio (Thuo’s Friend), Andrew Karanja (DJ at the club), Samuel Kuria (Waiter), Esther Ndinda (the waitress who served Thuo with the beer) and Ruth Watahi. The six will remain in custody at Industrial Area until the case is determined
The six have urged the court to release them on bail through their lawyer Cliff Ombeta with the following promise “We will avail ourselves to court when needed and attend trial until its conclusion. We will not in any manner interfere with prosecution witnesses. ”
