Nazizi Narrowly Escapes the Clutches of Death during Horrific Lamu Attack By Al-Shabaab

As the world battles the Islamic State insurgents, their brothers-in-crime Al-Shabaab launched an attack in Lamu that left two dead on Wednesday at 6 pm in Mkunumbi, near Mpeketoni.

This morning we woke up to more tragic news that the militants once again waylaid a bus travelling from nairobi to Mandera leaving two people dead and 3 others injured in the shocking attack.

Rapper Nazizi recently revealed how she narrowly escaped the clutches of death last week when she went to perform in Lamu.

“Woke up on the 16th of December mourning my brother and feeling low. We left at 6 am to go do a peace concert two hrs from the island in Mpeketoni .Never imagined that I and my entourage would be caught up in the Mpeketoni to Lamu road attack by al Shabaab . We left the peace concert in mpeketoni in high spirits. “ she wrote.

Then she added “Shortly into our journey all hell broke loose . We made it out in the nick of time . We headed back to Mpeketoni which jus brought back memories of last year attack with no security or any sort of help . Next morning I and some of the other artists were rescued by a small private owned cesna owned by an amazing man #fuzz from lamu. I’m happy to be alive. Rachael from #diamondbeachlamu ure an angel.”

After her near- brush with death, Nazizi couldn’t help but thank the people who saved her “ 21 gun salute for my rescue team who got me out of mpeketoni so fast ! Fuzz ure a real blessing so glad to have met u . Rachael ure my guardian angel.”
