Nonini: “F*ck Fighting For The Music Industry!”

Nonini has been a well known advocate of musicians rights ever since he blew up on the scene in the late 90s. His musical colleagues showed their appreciation for his efforts when they voted for him as a director representing the Audio Visual Sector at the Performance Rights Society of Kenya.

However, it seems that there is more to this whole situation than meets the eye. Nonini revealed in an announcement:

“When i see people criticizing the industry yaani uniwasha sana! But for the longest I have been a lone rebel fighting for hii industry yetu and I was always being singled out in many ways but I didn’t care!”

This is the old Nonini we are used to. The music industry martyr, who in the face of strong criticism early in his career, managed to come out later as the highest paid celebrity in Kenya. However, he went on to expose that his efforts were in vain. He continued:

“In 2013, why should I care because my industry mates don’t care. Somebody told me this year take a back seat! F*ck fighting for the industry, make your money umake sure Jay imbambe in the future. As much as I’m burning up inside, I’m gonna do just that!”
