For a while Nonini was known as the bad-boy of Genge thanks to his extremely tawdry lyrics that were uncomfortable to listen to in the company of your parents.

His ability to produce dirty lyrics was demonstrated   in songs such as ‘We Kamu’ and ‘Mtoto Mzuri’ and his album the Hanyaring Game was equally discomfiting.

But when he dropped Mwisho wa Mawazo it marked the birth of a new Nonini, his new album was more mature and it was actually nice to see that he had evolved from a crude lyricist.
