Pinky Ghelani Accosted by Rowdy Youth for Being a “Muhindi”

Model and former radio personality, Pinky Ghelani – Raj is the latest celeb to come face to face with xenophobic attacks that sections of Nairobi have been experiencing. According to the mother of one, she was driving past a group of youth holding ODM banners and screamed “muhindi” when they saw her and then started hitting the bonnet of her car.

Though she wasn’t harmed, Pinky wondered what the point of all that commotion was and admitted to having an adrenaline rush. “Won’t lie..I was scared.. Just makes me wonder abt mar 2013..” tweeted the model. However, she could not let go the issue without giving a piece of her mind, “I understand those r campaigners – Fine, campaign all u want but please do not harass motorists! Give me a reason 2vote 4u!! My vote counts2,” said Pinky.

She was also quick to point out that she was Kenyan and that her skin colour should not be used to alienate her. “Kenya is home… I can’t do anything about the fact that my skin is different..my heart is Kenyan…” asserted Pinky adding that, “Am not saying Indians are not at fault..our attitudes need to change though..from both ends..am so sick of this ‘rudi India’ bulls***”
