Planned Power Interruptions to Affect Multiple Regions on Monday

Residents across several parts of the country are set to experience scheduled power interruptions on Monday, May 4, 2026, as part of ongoing maintenance and system improvement works.
In the Nairobi Region, the outage will affect areas along Kingara Road, including Kingara Close and surrounding neighborhoods. The interruption is expected to run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., temporarily disrupting businesses and households in the area.
Meanwhile, in the Central Rift Region, parts of Litein Town in Kericho County will be without electricity from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The affected locations include Kapsenetwet, Chemoiben, Kabartegan, Kapminchiywet School, Botoni Village, and areas around the former PC Cheluget residence, along with adjacent customers.
In the North Rift Region, sections of Uasin Gishu County—specifically Kamoret and Sambut—will also face a power blackout between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Areas such as Kamagut and Sunrise are among those expected to be impacted.
Additionally, in the Mt. Kenya Region, parts of Kirinyaga County, including Karaini and Old Kangaita, will experience a similar outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected locations include Karaini Market, Kamuruana Village, Mutuma Block, Rutui TBC, Kangaita Kwa Eliud, Old Kangaita Market, Kangaita Primary School, and Kangaita Tea Factory.
Residents in the listed areas are advised to plan accordingly, as power supply will be restored once the scheduled maintenance is completed. The interruptions are part of routine efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the electricity network.
