Popular Musician Reveals How She Landed Herself An African King. Ladies Take Notes

This is the sixth single off Fena Gitu’s debut album FENAMENON. Fena describes this song as one of her favorite tracks on the album, “one of my babies”. Shot by A.Macharia, The African King video offers a little something for everyone. From fun, quirky moments by Fena, a little eye candy for everyone and a heart-warming little African prince. With this song and its electric video Fena celebrates African men from all walks of life that stand by their women and families no matter the situation.

The “African King” video launch was successfully executed on February 18th2015 at G-Skyye Rooftop Lounge. The single was exclusively launched on Homeboyz 103.5 Fm (G-Money in the Morning), One FM 97.1 (DnG and Saidi Lulu on OneFm Breakfast), Radio Maisha (Tina Korosso and Zuleka), and KISS FM (Adelle Onyango).
Fena dropped her debut album on May 26th2014 to overwhelming response. She has worked with Kenya’s music industry trailblazers like Jaaz Odongo, Kagwe Mungai, and Provoke. Fena has also collaborated with Kenyan musicians such as Wangechi the rapper, Toshi (of the pioneer group Na Noma), Karun and Patricia Kihoro. She has also collaborated with African superstars such as South African HipHop giants HHP and Nigeria’s Olamide (Coke Studio Africa Season Two).

FENA burst into the limelight in 2008, after she won the “Fete de la Musique” singing competition at Alliance Francaise, marking the beginning of her music career. She started out as a back-up vocalist for Muthoni the Drummer Queen and Dela in 2009 before pursuing a solo career in 2010.
Fena has so far released singles “Fenamenal Woman”, “Feels Good”, “Dutch” and “Jabulani” that have been well-received. She released her debut album Fenamenon which was greatly received and acclaimed.
