REVEALED: How Much Different Artists Reaped From Campaigns

Elections are over and life is back to normal after a thrilling campaign season. However, the campaign period was a life changer to a section of artists who endorsed different presidential aspirants. For the artists it’s a case of laughter all the way to be bank with over KSh.15billion set aside for campaigns for both CORD and Jubilee teams. This is after TNA was repoerted to spend over KSh250 million for endorsements alone.

As already witnessed, a significant amount of the figure was spent on organizing events where artists took to stage to appeal to the young voters. According to the Nairobian, TNA splashed lots of cash during the Dunda Na Uhuru concerts where top artists in the industry performed. In fact a sources intimates that each of the top artiste was being paid about KSh300,000 for perfoming at TNA rallies. And the shows went on for six days every week which translates to KSh1.8 million per week!!! So, by the end of the campaign period each artiste on TNA payroll may have made a cool KSh7.2 million. It’s reported that Ringtone and Jaguar were earning up to KSh500,000 per show for the entire campaign period, which puts their earnings at an estimated KSh3 million per work. When contacted, Ringtone declined to confirm or deny the estimations only saying that he had been with TNA from day one and was nudged to drop his Dagoretti parliamentary seat (read the story HERE) to buttress the TNA campaigns.

The core artistes were also paid allowances running into a region of KSh60,000 daily to cater for small expenses like airtime and buying meals for them and their crews. In total, TNA had six artistes on a three-month contract: Ally B, DnG, Abbas, G-Kon, Jaguar and Ringtone alongside the likes of Madtraxx, Marya and Chiwawa. Contacted about the amount the amount of money they received, G-Kon said “I don’t know about others, but as for me, I was being paid KSh200,000 daily for the road shows.
