And it’s surely been a longtime coming before we filled you in on which clubs are popping in Nairobi this year. So last weekend we embarked on a club hopping spree to find out where nights come alive in Nairobi.
We started off in Westlands which I must say has taken a back seat in nocturnal activities. Most clubs to say the least had little or no life at all. Apart from Skyluxx which had an event going on, the only other place kicking was Brew Bistro which is relatively new. And true to word on the street, it’s the new hangout joint in that part of town. The music is pretty dope and so is the ambience with most of the crowd being Nairobi’s young elite. I think I spotted Prezzo at the far corner partaking in shisha, sipping some Jameson with a younging in tow who couldn’t stop wigging her small butt to Rihanna’s work.
After having a few beers, we decided to go look where all the real action lay and we found ourselves in the heart of Kilimani, specifically Galana Plaza. The place was Kiza Lounge and from the moment we walked in, it was clear this is hottest hangout joint in Nairobi at the moment.
With great décor and warm ambience, the place exudes class and adds a magic touch to the vibrant city life. First of all it’s on the roof top so you are guaranteed a breathtaking view of the Nairobi suburb while enjoying the exclusivity in their VIP section.
Actually, you should make your way down there over the weekend and make sure to try out their Cigar bar which has the freshest cigar bars at the moment. Ask Shaffie Weru or Gor Semelango who I found having a blast in the VIP section. Still on the VIP section, if you are looking to score some biashara with some top honchos, then you need to make your way there. Trust me saying you will impress them will be an understatement.
And if it’s that Eritrean beauty in Investment banking you have been trying to impress, then you can’t go wrong with Kiza. They have some sumptuous African dishes and cocktails which will blow your mind away.
It only gets a little uncomfortable for team mafisi as some really fine yellow yellow mamis flock the place in droves dressed to kill and smelling exceptionally nice with a dire need to have a good time; if you know what I mean.
A franchise of Kiza Dubai, it has taken Nairobi’s club scene a notch higher, set the standards and it will be interesting to see if other players match up.
