Sauti Sol Snubbed For The Award Show That Named Them “Best African Act “. See Who Grabbed The Coveted Spot
Last year, talented boy band Sauti Sol beat the likes of Davido and Diamond to win the MTVEMA Best African Act award!
A huge fete since people are really talented in Africa. Unfortunately we will not get to vote them to the top again as they have not been nominated!
The nominees in all 2015 MTV EMA categories have just been announced via MTV’s international Snapchat Discover channel and the voting race is on! Taylor Swift is leading the way with a record-breaking nine nominations, including three nods to her global smash hit Bad Blood for Best Song and Best Video, as well as brand new category Best Collaboration for her alliance with Kendrick Lamar.
The 2015 MTV EMA will broadcast live across Africa on Sunday 25 October at 22:00 CAT on MTV (DStv channel 130) and MTV Base (DStv channel 322, GOtv channel 72) from the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, in partnership with Expo 2015. Smirnoff is the official South African sponsor of the 2015 MTV EMA.
Man of the moment Justin Bieber is up for no less than six MTV EMAs, boosted by the global success of his current chart-topping track What Do You Mean? Voting is now open for all categories at mtvema.com, including the Best African Act category, for which wildcard nominee DJ Arafat has been chosen by fans via social vote.
Social voting in the highly prized Biggest Fans category also went live today. Fandom groups now have the power to vote for their favourite artists via Twitter, Instagram and Vine using the hashtag #EMABiggestFans along with the artists’ names. Here are the official hashtags:
