Shock And Outrage As Popular News Anchor Is Arrested Live On Air (Photos)

A few hours ago Twitter Users expressed outrage after a well-known news anchor/ reporter was arrested while reporting live on air.

Elijah Turya from NBS TV was arrested alongside his camera man Wasswa Hassan and other journalists while reporting live from outside a building in Kasangati that houses Besigye’s party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

After this shocking incident, Elijah was let out after a few minutes after, with the police saying that “We are only doing our job”

This incident is just one of the many disturbing incidents going on in Uganda post elections. Other incidents include the arbitrary and disgraceful arrests of Besigye, putting Besigye under house arrest and restricting Besigye’s travel.
