Standard Newspaper Writer Reacts To Being Named One Of The ‘Top Homosexuals’ In Kenya Among Maina Kageni

It’s only in Kenya where someone’s sexuality will make front page news…yes in a country where we have bigger problems such as terrorism, corruption and cholera; we are more concerned about what people do in the confines of their bedroom.

Yesterday, The Citizen ‘unleashed’ a list of ‘gays’ naming Maina Kageni, Binyavanga Wainaina and others as the top homosexuals. One of those named Joji Baro has been visibly livid over it, despite being openly gay and clamoring for attention on the blogs…

Binyavanga on the other hand could be least concerned over the issue and maintained radio silence over it, now Makau Mutua has responded to this saying:

“Being gay is human. I would be proud to be gay. Except I am not gay. Paper outs “gays.” #HomophobicCitizenWeeklyOutsGays.”
