Tempers Galore: Star Newspaper Duels The Standard.

The digital migration has caused quite the melee, It has entered the second week, a second week that sees the four largest television channels remain off air while journalists and expert wannabes continue to plague us with what to expect from the digital migration. Hey everybody? Relax! We went for a full week without TV’s and we did’t die! Methinks, we should all take it easy and move on. 

 Where were we? This week alone we have had people lose tempers at the mention of digital migration, we have been called old women,ignorant,petty and naive  by one Larry Madowo who was  not excited that everyone had something to say about Digital Migration, Ok. nothing new. The newest beef has been between Star’s Oliver Mathenge and Standard’s Wahome Thuku. Apparently Oliver used the “F” word on Wahome Thuku when they had an altercation regarding the Africa Digital Network. 

Shortly after the altercation, Wahome went to his Facebook and posted:

“….So this Star Newspaper Reporter Oliver Mathenge decides to use the “f” word on me over the ADN story. Good for him. It’s not personal. I don’t own the Standard, he doesn’t own The Star. In any event I’m told Mathenge is wedding tomorrow morning Feb 28 somewhere on Kiambu Road. All the more the reason why I cant answer him back. I’m not the one to engage a man in a shouting match on his wedding eve. May be my daughter Wambui would be the one to do that, she must be his agemate. But let me hope the incoming wife will be resourceful in impacting some wisdom in him. That is what wives do sometimes. Wish you a happy marriage sir..”
