The Daring Female MP Offers Explanation Why She Openly Breastfed Her Baby In Parliament

She shocked the nation when she courageously removed her breast in Parliament and fed her baby. But the female MP has no regrets whatsoever.

Nominated legislator, Sarah Paulata Korere, made an unusual entry into the history book of Parliament for openly breastfeeding her child in the August House.

Honourable Sarah Korere is not ashamed for her action. The MP caught the attention of the country when she boldly breastfed her daughter at the National Assembly.

Explaining her action to the Standard, the daring MP said her daughter was entailed to six months of exclusive breastfeeding. Honourable Sarah clarified her daughter had to get what she was entailed to.

“There was no way I was going to leave my daughter at home. I would be pleasing some people, but hurting her.” The MP explained.

Asked how fellow legislators reacted following her audacious action, the honourable MP said she was greeted by a mixed reaction.

She revealed some female law makers ridiculed her saying walking around with a child was old-fashioned; others encouraged her. She further disclosed her male colleagues were dazzled; some patted her for making sure her daughter remained healthy.

Honourable Sarah hails from the greater Maasai region of Laikipia. She has undergone lots of challenges while she was growing up. Being scorned for breastfeeding in parliament is nothing but a walk in the park for her. She has no regrets for what she did.
