The Global Talanta Awards Comes To Kenya For The First Time. Its Founder Sheds Light On Why She Decided To Honor Kenya
It has taken the country seven years to host the prestigious Talanta awards. For years our gospel artists have flown to US and UK to go grab their prizes but this year things are different.
Talanta Awards was started to bring positive influence in young Africans in America. The Award has since expanded its wings to Africa.
Since its inception, the award has never been hosted any African country till now. The Kenyan edition of Talanta Award will be held this coming Saturday at KICC.
Speaking to Ghafla!, Talanta Awards founder and President, Margaret Waruri, had so much to say about her prestigious creation, Talanta Awards.
The philanthropic minister revealed she tried to launch the award in the country sometimes last year but didn’t have the appropriate machinery. This made her run behind schedule forcing her to postpone it to this year.

Margaret Waruri,
Apart from just rewarding gospel artists from across the world, Talanta Awards also conducts talent search and offers mentorship programme.
The President told us her crew had already visited various counties to scout raw talents. She has been sponsoring gifted artists through Talanta.
