The New Disney Movie Trailer Is Out! And Lupita and another Kenyan Are In It

The trailer of the latest Disney movie is out and Kenyans have 2 reasons to be excited, one the movie ‘Jungle Book’ looks exciting and two actors of Kenyan origin will be starring in the blockbuster.

One of them is familiar to many of you, Lupita Nyong’o since she starred in 12 Years a Slave. The other is Ben Kingsley whom many are unfamiliar with his Kenyan roots despite being a popular Hollywood figure.

For those who do not know, Ben actually has roots in Kenya as Kingsley’s father was born in Kenya and was a Gujarati Indian. Kingsley just like Lupita has also won an Oscar award back in 1983 in the category of ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ in the critically acclaimed movie ‘Gandhi’ . Kingsley will be the voice of Bagheera a black panther while Lupita Nyong’o will voice Raksha, an Indian wolf who is Mowgli’s adoptive mother.

What’s more there is another win for Africa as Idris Elba of Sierra Leonean-Ghanaian descent will be in the movie as villainous tiger Shere Khan.
