THE TRUTH: Everything You Need To Know About The Illuminati And Kenyan Celebrities

About two days ago, a certain guy inboxed me on Facebook. The chat was rather interesting. I’ll call him Mr.Q like the code name of a Russian spy. So this is how the conversation went:

Mr. Q: Hello Etemesi. I love your articles man, big up

Me: Thank you bro

Mr. Q: Are you a member of illuminati? Just tell me the truth man. I won’t tell anyone. Can you help me join?

Me: What? I am not in the illuminati, why would you even think that?

Mr. Q: I have read some of your articles and they are just on another level. I think there’s a power helping you. Please Etemesi. Help a brother join. I want to be a famous artiste

Me: You serious?

Mr.Q: Yes man, I want riches, fame and girls man. I want to be the best artiste in Kenya

Me: Let me laugh

I had no response for that. Let me take you back in time.

The year was 2012. Speculation was rife and the hype was strong. Apparently, everyone in this world who had unrivalled fame and money was perceived to be a member of the secret society called Illuminati. It was taboo to watch a Jay Z or Rihanna music video because according to conspiracy theorists, they had symbols that carried mystic powers. Some said the songs and clips had subliminal messages that were used to brainwash us. Here in Kenya, celebrities like Octopizzo and Eric Omondi were furiously lambasted by the media for being rumored members of the cult-like organization. They were vilified and bad-mouthed.

That heat has cooled off in recent times but there’s still a high number of uninformed people who still believe that people become successful because of the Illuminati, There’s always been a fevered debate about whether the fantasy society exists or not. I am infinity% sure that The Illuminati Conspiracy Theory was and is a bag load of delusional bullshit. Actually, the Illuminati is just a means by which a group of lazy people use to justify why other people are so successful yet they are not. Put it in the same context as juju. Many wealthy people have been accused of using juju to reach their current status yet in reality; they have just put in the hard work. Jealousy chokes mortals.

There’s no illuminati in Kenya. Conspiracy theorists are just mere people who spread fear and rumours that there is some kind of negative or evil force behind an incident or event It’s also vitally important to remember conspiracy theories are just that – theories.

What’s the urban dictionary definition of the Illuminati for example?

The Illuminati is a secret organization of the most powerful and influential elite in the world. They go back for centuries and maintain the same bloodlines

If The Illuminati is a SECRET organization that is as powerful as everyone makes it out to be then it should be a SECRET organization that is just that – A FREAKIN’ SECRET. There should be no YouTube videos, documentaries, websites, books, blog posts and articles about them. Anyone who isn’t a member of this organization shouldn’t even be thinking about their existence. Real SECRET organizations don’t mess about with their shit. So how can a SECRET organization as powerful as the Illuminati be of public knowledge? See? Doesn’t make sense

But why did Kenyans believe this crap so much?

The reality behind the Illuminati Myth is that us just like all other people in the world are sinful and naughty little freaks. We do bad things all the time. We know it but we don’t want to acknowledge it. This Illuminati Myth is just further proof that humans will believe anything sensational anything that makes them look good because if a SECRET society is controlling world, then they are the bad ones and we are the good ones.. Instead of us blaming The Minority for all that is wrong with the world and instead of us looking into out own evil, selfish, messed the hell up race, we blame some secret organization.  Humans collectively don’t want to face up to the fact that we are the cause of our own problems. For centuries we have tried to blame something out of our control for our evil doings. Thus the reason for witchcraft among other things

.So there you have it. Hopefully people who’ve read this will treat the next conspiracy theory when it comes along with a bit more scepticism.
