The Valentines Aftermath, What You Need to Know #AirtelDXD

So Valentines came and went. You spent 2.3 million alright and all for what? Does it mean you stop showing your woman some loving? Or maybe you went to Monaco (this is one of the most expensive cities in the world by the way) does it change the dynamics of your relationship, have you experienced any growth?

In case you’re wondering where I’m going with this, I’m trying to say that you should strive for something grander, something dazzling that will forever change your lives. How about you start by educating your spouse on Design Thinking (Disruption by Design) awards.

This is award that came about through the partnership of Airtel and UP magazine that looks at awarding key change makers in Kenya who use solution based thinking to overcome challenges and offer relevant solutions to improve people’s lives.

Just like we’re known for creating the Vera Sidika’s and Huddah Monroe’s, Airtel believes that by recognizing and highlighting disruptive designers, they’ll be able to bring discussion of design, design thinking and solution based approaches to the fore with the Kenyan public.

The awards look forward to rewarding innovative elements in Kenyan society which stretch from architectural design, communications design, fashion design, interactive design, tech design and even green design; basically human based designs that will bring forth transformation.

In order to qualify for these awards, individual candidates must be citizens or long term residents of Kenya and must have been practicing design for a while now. Corporations and institutions that are willing to participate must have their headquarters in Kenya. Honorees will be selected for a body of realized work and not for any specific project.

Interested? Then make an effort to show for the launch of this project which will go down on the 19th of this month at Dusit2 along Riverside drive. This is where the official communication of where the designs will be submitted will be relayed where they will in turn go through an official nominating committee before going through a jury’s review. Finally the public will have the final say.
