 Three days ago I was reading  “Idylls Of The King” by  Lord Alfred  Tennyson-undoubtedly his best composition ever, Something about  Victorian literature, it takes you to Nirvana (cloud nine for you) It got me thinking of love, of passion and of Chivalry long gone, what happened to the era of romantic men and subservient women? 

Valentines Will be here in a fortnight, its the that time of the year apart from Christmas, when you are supposed to be really generous  with chocolate and roses, but do you know when valentine begun? According to an ancient mythology, Valentine’s day is closely linked to a  Catholic  Martyr of the 5th Century St. Valentine, It is celebrated worldwide as the “day of romance “… blah blah blah. 

In the olden days, young  men who went to woo girls as a show of romance and chivalry carried mead in horns, mead was a drink forged of honey and water and embellished with the rich scent of Thyme, a spice widely used to this day. Mead was said to be a drink of the gods and Greeks actually called it Nectar or Ambrosa, they believed that Mead was dew that descended from heaven and was picked by bees..
