Three questions I have for event organizers and promoters of concerts
These are matters that you as organisers and promoters should take seriously in order to get the best out of your events and concerts. This does not apply to all organisers though. Only those that have no idea of what they are doing.
1. Why do you have a VIP section if it is no different from the regular section?
Many a times we have been invited to these events, at the V.I.P to get the best of footage, and we don’t get surprised at all when we find out that the only thing setting the V.I.P area apart from the Regular area is a fence. Yes, a fence. No free drinks as promised, no special service, only seats that cater for you when you eventually get bored, because trust me, you will get bored. These kinds of V.I.P areas make the regular sections look way more interesting. I usually pity those that actually paid an arm and a leg to feel this special.
2. Organisers, why aren’t you organised?
Most of you organisers really have to step up your game. Seeing that you are organisers and all, fans expect to find a well lined up list of performers and a schedule to follow. How then, will an artiste start complaining about him not having been told about certain things like say, he/she is opening up for another artiste and is not the actual main performer! That really hurt a certain international artiste who came down to Kenya a few months ago.
3. Will you just pay the artiste in full please?
It would be really cool if we could avoid this little incidents of embarrassment when an artiste, especially international artiste, complains shortly after their performance that the organisers and promoters failed to keep their end of the bargain. You guys do realise that at this point your agency’s reputation has just been flushed down the toilet, right?
